Privacy Policy

Last updated: 22 May 2026

JustOneHit ("we", "us") runs JustOneHit.com, a reference site that uses public streaming data to show which artists are one hit wonders. This policy explains what data is collected when you visit, how cookies and advertising work, and the choices you have. We keep data collection to a minimum: there are no user accounts, and we do not ask you to sign in.

What we collect

We do not ask you for personal information to browse the site. Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard technical request logs (such as IP address, browser type, and the pages requested) for security and to keep the service running. Third parties described below may set cookies or process limited data when ads are shown.

Cookies and similar technologies

A cookie is a small file stored by your browser. We use as few as possible. The cookies that may be set fall into two groups: those used by Google to show advertising, and none for our own analytics (see Analytics below, which is cookieless). You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, though some advertising may then be less relevant.

Advertising and Google AdSense

JustOneHit displays advertising through Google AdSense. Google and its partners may use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites.

For more on how Google uses information from sites that use its services, see Google's Privacy & Terms and the Google advertising technologies page.

Consent for visitors in the UK and EEA

If you visit from the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, you will be shown a consent message before any non-essential advertising cookies are set, in line with Google's consent requirements. You can change or withdraw your choices at any time through that message. Where consent is required and not given, ads are limited to non-personalised options.

Analytics

We measure traffic with Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly tool that does not use cookies and does not collect or store any personal data. It reports aggregate figures only, such as page views and referring sites, so we cannot identify individual visitors from it.

External links

Pages may link to other sites, such as music data sources or a "buy me a coffee" page. Once you follow a link to another site, this policy no longer applies. We encourage you to read the privacy policy of any site you visit.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights over your personal data, including the right to access, correct, or delete it, and to object to certain processing. Because we hold no accounts and collect no personal profiles ourselves, most requests relate to data held by the third parties named above, and their own tools and policies apply. If you have a question for us, please use the contact details below.

Children

JustOneHit is a general-audience site about music and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the site changes or as legal requirements evolve. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

Contact

Questions about this policy or your data are welcome. Please see our contact page to get in touch.
