Yot Club is the bedroom-pop project of Ryan Kaiser, an American musician from Hattiesburg, Mississippi, now based in Nashville. His breakthrough came the modern way: "YKWIM?", a hazy, lovelorn track from his 2019 EP Bipolar, drifted along quietly until it went viral on TikTok and turned a self-recording indie artist into a genuine streaming success.
The song eventually surpassed a billion streams and went multi-platinum, an enormous result for a lo-fi project that began in obscurity. His later releases have a devoted following, but nothing has matched that one breakout.
On streaming, "YKWIM?" sits near 933 million plays, while his next most-streamed track, "no way !", trails at around 88 million. That sends the ratio above 10, well past our 5.0 line.
So by our measure, for now, Yot Club is a certified one-hit wonder, with the caveat that applies to a young, active bedroom-pop artist. His is a pure streaming-age story: a homemade song that the algorithm plucked from obscurity and turned into a platinum hit, leaving the rest of the catalogue far behind. A bedroom recording became a billion-stream song without ever leaving the bedroom.
