Neo Beats is a Brazilian producer working in brega funk, the bouncy, melodic fusion of funk, rap, and traditional brega that exploded across Brazil at the end of the 2010s. Like many figures in that scene, he is a beatmaker rather than a solo performer, and his most-streamed record is a collaboration built on his production.
"Surtada", released in 2019 with vocalists including Calibre 2.1 and OIK, became a brega-funk phenomenon, spawning a hugely popular remix and pulling far ahead of everything else under his name.
On streaming, "Surtada" sits near 32 million plays, while the next track credited to him trails at under one million. That sends the ratio above 50, far past our 5.0 line.
By our measure Neo Beats is a certified one-hit wonder, with the caveat that this reflects production billing rather than a conventional solo career. As a producer he is part of a fast-moving scene built on collaboration. It is simply that, under his own name, one brega-funk hit towers so completely over everything else that the gap is among the widest we track. It is a very modern Brazilian story: a producer-driven track, endlessly remixed and danced to, that becomes a national phenomenon while everything else under the name stays in its shadow.
