The Story

Loud Luxury are a Canadian DJ and production duo who broke through with one irresistibly summery dance track. "Body", released in 2017 with the singer Brando, was a slick, house-pop earworm that became a slow-building international hit, eventually going multi-platinum and turning the pair into festival regulars.

They have stayed active on the dance circuit and released plenty more, with tracks like "Love No More" finding audiences. But nothing has approached the reach of their breakout single.

On streaming, "Body" sits near 1.4 billion plays, while their next most-streamed track trails at around 206 million. That puts the ratio near 7, past our 5.0 line.

By our measure Loud Luxury are a certified one-hit wonder, with the caveat that always applies to working dance acts. The genre runs on individual hits more than career arcs, and the duo remain busy, but on streams one perfectly judged summer single still does far more work than everything else they have made. In dance music, that is less a verdict than a description of how the whole field works, where a producer's name is often carried by one defining track at a time.
